Hounds Trio Earn Week Six First XV Honors
Major League Rugby honored a trio of Hounds on Tuesday morning. The league announced the First XV for Week Six action, with prop Ignacio Peculo, lock James Scott, and center Billy Meakes earning a spot on the list.
Tighthead prop Ignacio Peculo earned selection after scoring his first try of the season. The Uruguayan World-Cup veteran added five tackles and 10 ruck arrivals to his stat sheet for the day. This is Peculo’s second appearance of the season on the First XV list.
Lock James Scott scored a brace of tries against New Orleans. The lineout operator added over 40 meters on the ground and was credited with 15 ruck arrivals as well. In addition to the league’s First XV honor, Hounds’ Head Coach Sam Harris also named Scott as the Man of the Match.
Lastly, captain Billy Meakes earned his first selection of the season. The All-Pro is back playing center and he finished Saturday with 10 carries for 83 meters, beating five defenders in the process. Defensively, he added six tackles on his eight tackle attempts.
