CHICAGO, IL- With the end of the season quickly approaching, and a potential playoff berth on the horizon, the Chicago Hounds added a trio of props before the Trade and Signing deadline.
The club announced today they signed prop Alu Taito for the remainder of the season. Additionally, the club brought in Nicolas Revol-Pitt on loan from Dallas and Juan Pen from the Carolina Anthem.
Alu Taito
The young American prop spent the 2023 season with the American Raptors competing in Super Rugby Americas. Fellow Hounds teammate Cassh Maluia, a distant cousin of Taito, also played for the Raptors last year.
Nicolas Revol-Pitt
The Hounds acquired Revol-Pitt on loan from Dallas for the remainder of the 2024 season.
In 2023, his first season with the Jackals, Revol-Pitt started seven games and appeared in ten contests. He scored a pair of tries and made 146 meters on 36 carries. Defensively, he was credited with 61 of his 76 tackle attempts. Revol-Pitt only made one appearance for Dallas this season, totalling just 44 minutes.
Juan Pen
The Hounds originally drafted the St. Bonaventure in the second round of the 2023 Major League Rugby collegiate draft. Despite impressive performances throughout the academy season, there was a logjam on the depth chart at tighthead prop, and Pen’s drafted rights were given to the Carolina Anthem.
The draft pick is back in the Chicago camp and will remain with the Hounds on loan for the remainder of the season.
