CHICAGO, I.L.- The Hounds announced today three trades the club recently made in their flurry of offseason signings. The Hounds made three separate trades: one with the Dallas Jackals and two with the Houston Sabercats.
Chicago traded one international player slot to the Dallas Jackals and received salary cap considerations for the 2023 MLR season in return. With the move, Chicago’s international player allotment per match day 23 went from ten to nine.

Dallas Receives: One International Player Slot for the 2023 Season
Additionally, Chicago traded another international player slot to the Houston Sabercats and in return the Hounds received salary cap considerations for the 2023 MLR season. The Hounds’ international player allotment per match day 23 went from nine to eight with the trade.

Houston Receives: One International Player Slot for the 2023 Season
Per Major League Rugby’s website: “Major League Rugby’s total International Slot allowance is 120 across the league’s 12 clubs for a match-day roster of 23.”
Lastly, in an additional trade with the Houston Sabercats, Chicago traded lock Nathan Den Hoedt for salary cap considerations for the 2023 MLR Season. The Hounds selected Den Hoedt, who played for the Los Angeles Giltinis, in the Expansion Draft earlier this year.
