James Scott
Scott is a product of the Worcester Warriors system and was originally linked with the club at the Under-15 academy level. In 2017, the 6-foot-6, 245-pound lock joined the Warriors’ Senior Academy Team. He made his senior debut against Stade Francais in October 2018, coming off the bench as a replacement in the European Rugby Challenge Cup match. Two months later, Scott made another appearance for the Warriors in a contest against Pau.
The following fall, the lock earned his first start for the Warriors in a Premiership Rugby Cup game against the Leicester Tigers. After making appearances in three more European Challenge Cup games, Scott made his Premiership debut, starting in a Round 15 matchup against the Wasps. He started two additional matches to close out the season in Rounds 17 and 19 against Exeter and Bath, respectively. Prior to the 2020-2021 season, Scott signed a senior squad contract.
In February 2021, Scott joined the Glasgow Warriors on a six-week loan. He made his debut for the Glasgow outfit in a Round 12 game against Ulster, coming off the bench as a replacement. Scott added three more appearances for Glasgow, one as a replacement and the other two as a starter. He returned to the Worcester Warriors and continued to make appearances in the Premiership Rugby Cup throughout the 2021-2022 season.
In June 2022, Scott signed with the Jersey Reds, competing in the RFU Championship, for the 2022-2023 season. He was a regular presence in their starting lineup and helped the Reds to a 20-1-1 record, good enough to win the RFU Championship. The Hounds recently-appointed Forwards Coach, Rob Webber, was the lead man for Jersey during the campaign. Webber and Scott are now set to reunite in Chicago for the 2024 MLR season.
